# Profile Specific Mod Configs

Some mods generate a `config.json` file after running SMAPI once with the mod installed. These config files allow users to change how their respective mods interacts with the game.

Stardrop can save these `config.json` files and associate them to [mod profiles](/stardrop/guides/using-stardrop/creating-a-profile.md), allowing profiles to have different configurations for the same mods.

To enable this behavior, simply go to `View` > `Settings` and check the **Enable Profile Specific Mod Configs** option.
